Photographer Laurence Philomène Challenges Binary Gender Perceptions

Montreal-based photographer, Laurence Philomène, is a powerful visual storyteller; creating brightly colored, attention-grabbing images that tell stories surrounding identity and a sense of selfhood.

Through a trans + queer point of view, their imagery “humanizes aspects of identity that have been historically marginalized, and acts as a love letter to their community.” Philomène’s photography is nothing short of eye candy that takes you into a world of dreamy technicolor and explores “Western understandings of masculinity and femininity inform our perception of gender, and how the two can co-exist outside of the binary”.
